Citizen Involvement

Vermillion Public Library - Board of Trustees
The library is governed by a six-member Board of Trustees. Trustees meet in the library once a month.The public is welcome to attend Vermillion Public Library Board meetings. Please feel free to join them with your comments, ideas, and suggestions. If library patrons have any suggestions or compaints that the library director cannot resolve, they may attend a Trustee's meeting. Residents may apply to the Mayor of Vermillion for an appointment to the Library Board.

Friends of the Vermillion Public Library

Friends of the Vermillion Public Library is an organization of people who are interested in promoting the use of the library by supporting and developing its resources and facilities, focusing public attention on the library, receiving and encouraging gifts to the library, and organizing fund raising activities. Please ask the front desk if you have any questions.

 
Vermillion Public Library Foundation

The Vermillion Public Library Foundation, Inc. is an independent non-profit organization. Its purpose is to accept, maintain and distribute donations, bequests and memorials to the library. It has received 501 (c)3 non-profit status under the IRS code. The Foundation is neither a part of nor controlled by the City of Vermillion or the Vermillion Public Library Board of Trustees. Please contact President Jim Wilson at 624-4579 for more information.

Goals of the Foundation
•To accept, maintain, and distribute donations, bequests, and memorials to the library as directed by the donors.
•To assist the Vermillion Public Library in designing and funding special projects that will improve or expand patron services.
•To provide support for innovative uses of the resources of the Vermillion Public Library.
•To be a positive constuctive influence on the development of the resources and facilities of the Vermillion Public Library
